Please make sure your registration is being renewed. Do not leave it until the last minute. If you have to do it by cheque then do it recorded. You can check your details are correct and you are registered via eGdc. Do not just trust it to happen, this is your living you are responsible to check it. If you have just changed bank accounts then check the DD is done, if necessary pay it online. Do Not Trust the banks or the GDC to get it right, it will always be your fault.
Annual retention fee reminder for dental care professionals
The General Dental Council (GDC) is reminding all dental care professionals not to miss the 31 July deadline to pay their annual retention fee (ARF) to remain on the register.
All dental care professionals must be registered with the GDC to work in the UK. The fee is £96 for dental nurses, dental technicians, dental therapists, dental hygienists, clinical dental technicians and orthodontic therapists. It’s important to remember that if they don’t pay, they will be putting their registration at risk. We will not be able to accept any payments received after 31 July.

The GDC’s Head of Registration Gurvinder Soomal said:
“We hope registrants will take advantage of our eGDC website at www.eGDC-uk.org. This not only allows them to pay their ARF but they can keep contact details up to date and manage their Continuing Professional Development hours. If you are not already registered online - then why not set up an account now? All recent ARF related correspondence contains your ID verification code, which you’ll need to create your eGDC account.”
All payment options will be open from 24 May 2010 until 31 July 2010. No payments can be processed after the deadline so registrants must ensure their payment is received on or before 31 July 2010.
