Hi flossie,

If you are allowed to do injections then you are allowed to use these, we have plenty of samples if anyone would like to try them out? It is 'painfree' as it releases in small doses, stopping the build up of pressure, which causes the pain.  Just PM me your details and i'll send one out to you. Please note they take 1.8 ampules.

Would it be a problem getting 1.8ml (american sized) cartridges though?  since our standard ones are 2.2ml and I  would only be able to use them in the saniject syringes .....just a thought.

Hi Kevo,

No worries, shall I sent some to Quay Health? Let us know your thoughts.

Would anybody else like to give it a try?

Hi All,

Have just been checking out availability of the 1.8ml ampules and they are readily available through Dental Directory by lots of different manufacturers. I think 1.8 is the standard European size, hence the sizing of these as they are manufactured in Switzerland.

I will get Kevos and Pollyannas out to you tomorrow - we have plenty more if there are any other takers!!

Whilst pressure has a role in LA pain, a lot of the discomfort comes from the pH of the solutions used which can be as low as 3.5 ie. acidic!

There will a product coming to market in the Autumn that allows the correct amount of sodium bicarb to be added to the cartridge to buffer the solutions back to neutral.  According to Stanley Malamed it works because you can do it manually however the amount of bicarb needed varies from type to type - too little and it doesn't buffer enough, too much and a precipitate forms in the cartidge.

Happy to try  a syringe though as would interested to see if it may help!  www.clarence-house.co.uk for my details, Vicki. Thanks
